My name is Quan. When I look back at my childhood, I remember a life filled with absence and uncertainty. My father left when I was just a little boy, and with that, I grew up without ever truly knowing what a father’s love felt like. My mother and I struggled to survive.. Because of that, I stayed with my grandparents, growing up in a situation where I lacked not only stability but also the opportunity to develop fully.

Those early years shaped me, but they also limited me. I did not have access to proper nutrition, education, or the support that a child needs to grow with confidence. My future felt uncertain, and my dreams seemed far out of reach.

But everything began to change in July 2018.
That was when I was given the opportunity to be nurtured by GIBTK at Carmela’s Home. It was the turning point of my life. For the first time, I experienced things I had never known before such as regular nutritious meals, full support for my education, proper healthcare, and most importantly a safe and loving environment. I was also taught essential life skills, leadership, and how to believe in myself.

What touched me the most was the love. The genuine care from GIBTK and the bonds I formed with others like me helped heal wounds I did not even realize I carried. It also lifted a huge burden off my mother’s shoulders, knowing that I was safe, supported, and given a chance at a better future.

In October 2020, another door opened for me when I moved to Hal’s Home, a place for university students. There, my dreams continued to grow. I pursued higher education, studying to become a laboratory technician, a goal that once felt impossible.

Today, I am proud to say that I have successfully graduated from Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. Even more meaningful, I am now working as a teaching assistant at the same university where I once studied. This is a milestone I never thought I could reach.
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a Master’s degree to further expand my knowledge and create more opportunities to contribute to society.

None of these miracles would have been possible without GIBTK.
As I step into this new chapter of my life, I carry with me the support, trust, and kindness that have shaped who I am today. Although I am leaving the Home, the love and encouragement I received will always remain in my heart. They are the foundation that gives me strength and confidence to move forward.
