Kingdom Coalition for Kids
Partnership Project
KC4K members Royal Family KIDS (RFK) and Kids Around the World (KATW) partnered with THREE multi-national, multi-ethnic churches in July to create two exciting projects for orphaned and at-risk children in South Africa. The effort resulted in a (1) beautiful new KATW playground and Heavenly Papa’s Clubhouse—a converted container that will be the center for children’s ministry in Rustenburg and (2) a 5 day residential RFK camp for 40 orphans.
The RFK-KATW effort pulled volunteers and leaders from:
- An American church (Newport Mesa Church in Costa Mesa, CA) that sent 21 volunteers, including the senior pastor to work both the children’s camp and construction sites.
- A white Afrikaans church (Tabernacle Church in Krugsdorf) with just 40 members who directed the camp and invited 40 orphans to attend.
- A large black South African church (Excellence Ministries International in Rustenburg) with a growing kids’ ministry but no children’s equipment.
“It was so exciting to see this many Christian groups come together and make something happen for kids in a week! It really defines ‘better together’ philosophy that Dan and Gina Streit have built Kingdom Coalition for Kids around,” Joanne Feldmeth, RFK Director of International Programs, explained. “Half the team spent the five days with children who had been abused or trafficked or orphaned—giving them a week of happy memories at Jackson’s Ridge—swimming, biking and hearing about God’s love. The other half of the team worked turning a weed patch into a ‘field of dreams’ with a playground for neighborhood kids. You should have seen the children run for the slides when the playground and clubhouse opened after church on Sunday!”
