My name is Gia. I’m 11 years old, and I live in a small village in Dak Lak.

For many years, I often felt tired. I had coughing, headaches, and sometimes my heart would beat very fast. But I didn’t say much, because I didn’t want my parents to worry. They already had so many difficulties. My father works very hard in different jobs, but his health is not good. My mother is also sick and needs treatment far from home, so everything in my family has always been very hard.

Then one day, during a health check at my school, the doctors told me I had a heart condition. I didn’t fully understand what it meant, but I saw my parents cry. I knew it was serious… and I knew we could not afford the surgery. I felt scared, but also very sad, because I just wanted to be healthy like my friends and continue going to school.
