We are honored to share that For The Children President Wendy McMahan will attend the signing of the Fostering the Future Executive Order at the White House tomorrow, Thursday, November 13th, 2025.

This historic event recognizes the vital importance of investing in the futures of children and youth who have experienced foster care—an effort that deeply aligns with our mission to protect, advocate for, and empower those who have experienced relational trauma.

Wendy will be joined by Dr. Samantha Orr, a member of For The Children’s Board of Directors and a powerful example of transformation and hope. Samantha entered foster care at the age of eight and attended a Royal Family KIDS Camp hosted by a local church, where she met her future adoptive family. Today, she holds a doctorate in education, serves as an Assistant Principal, and continues to advocate for children in foster care through her leadership and lived experience. Together, Wendy and Samantha will represent For The Children’s commitment to ensuring every child experiences belonging, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.

Fostering the Future, a Be Best initiative of the First Lady, secures educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community.

We are grateful for this opportunity to stand alongside national leaders, child-welfare advocates, and partners from across the country as we collectively work to ensure every child experiences safety, belonging, and hope.

For The Children is proud to represent thousands of volunteers, churches, and community partners who serve children through our programs, including Royal Family KIDS Camp, Royal Family KIDS Mentoring, and Bridge to Belonging.

Together, we are fostering the future—one child, one relationship, and one moment at a time.
