Kintsugi Art – Taking broken pieces of clay and binding them together with gold to create one complete beautiful work of art.

Kintsugi bowl with cracks, tablware, ceramics. Japanese technique of tableware restoration. Beauty of imperfection. Gold lines. Wabi Sabi philosophy. Generative AI.

Lacquerware is a longstanding tradition in Japan and, at some point, kintsugi may have been combined with maki-e as a replacement for other ceramic repair techniques. While the process is associated with Japanese craftsmen, the technique was also applied to ceramic pieces of other origins including China, Vietnam, and Korea.

Growing GIBTK

Growing GIBTKToday’s Journal Entry is From our President, Robert Kalatschan
I needed the last couple days. As GIBTK continues to grow and develop so has my responsibilities. Years ago John Scudder a board member asked me “How big do you want to get?” My response always has been the more lives we can influence the better. Still true, but more and more I recognizing the “costs” these days as I’ve been saying way too often, consists more of meetings and less actual program contacts.
Me and John when he asked that fateful question
Truth be told I admit the times have been challenging. The division in our country and yes the world. Uncertain economic times, and a growing budget. GIBTK currently has 67 full time team members. So how big do I wanna get? My answer remains the same! Yes I’m challenged on a personal level BUT it is so worth it!
Our The Father’s House
We dropped by The Fathers House, our unwed mother’s home. We have had 99 babies borned so far! Vietnam is the top few in abortions internationally! I’m not taking a stand either way but I do feel that a girl who wants to keep her baby should get too. At our home a girl can stay long enough to get an education or vocation. Today I was greeted by a mom. She said she’s going to the hospital today! I’m confused why is she still here, I was told  she wanted to greet our team! My answer, ok she’s seen our team now go?.
A mom who was about to give birth but held back to talk to me
Nope she insisted to stay till we left. Kelsey (our guest) and her mom began timing contractions, (I’m laughing at how i felt) the mom began at 10 min, then went down to 5! I dunno much about this stuff but i do know she needs to go! But she insisted to stay and be with guests how crazy is this type of love?.
Then she gave birth to an incredibly cute baby
Next we went to Mary’s Home, for girls under 16. Each visit their English improves. They shared stories of abandonment by their moms and dads…. Yup tears in my eyes as I type stories of abuse. But now they have a new family, GIBTK! a family that cares and DOES NOT ABANDON! These girls have dreams, from chefs, to airlines attendants to doctors and teachers! We will not give up and yes we will continue to grow and mature, ever striving to be ready for the changes in this world.
Our beloved girls at Mary’s Home

King & Country Cambodia (Final part) – Today’s Journal is from a great man – Paul Buchanan

0
King & Country Cambodia (Final part)Today’s Journal is from a great man – Paul BuchananThe song, called Together, is written and sung by a music group called For King & Country. I’m not a music teacher nor do I sing, but somehow, I felt they would enjoy the song and relate to the lyrics. With much trepidation I asked if they would print a few copies of the lyrics so that we could read them and then listen to the song. The girls gave me their full attention and listened intently as I read the lyrics. Then, as we played the song, the girls began to sing, wiggle and move with excitement to the beat of the song.
Songs sung by the girls
Now fast-forward a year and I have returned to Marlene and Vera‘s House for a selfish dose of heaven. As I once again ride the wave of excitement into the house the girls are extra excited, giggling, and laughing. It was then that they asked me to sit down because they wanted to perform something for me. When they pushed the play button, the familiar song, “Together “, began to play. As the lyrics played, the girls began to sing and act out the song.
Wonderful moments come in a very meaningful performance
Their synchronized movements and the heavenly sound of their voices would make any Broadway choreographer jealous. As I watched in amazement, tears of joy and excitement welded up in my eyes.I could tell they had worked so hard on this surprise for me and their joy overwhelmed my heart. As their presentation ended, two of the girls came forward and shared how the song had become the anthem of the house and had brought healing, forgiveness and unity to all the girls.
Come and share about the song
Wow, I could have never imagined, a year ago, that my grasp in the darkness to share something with these girls could have impacted them in such a profound way… it could only be God.There are 195 countries in the world and only 43 still having kings. But now, there is a group of young ladies in Cambodia, that are serving the “King of Kings” with a renewed unity and passion that only comes from heaven. They share a unified love for the Lord and for each other that truly is “For King and Country”.

Max and Heather did an amazing job and the fact that Heather and team are going to be implementing this training throughout all of Royal Family Kids camps and the Tean camps TRAC around the globe  is so amazing.  www.rfk.org  .  So many camps around the globe are implementing this for their teams and volunteers is catching fire and spreading now to churches and other children’s support ministries, several that max and team are coordinating the training of via zoom and in person certifications.  The Story of Heather sharing with us the difference between one camp that utilities TBRI and one that didn’t with her daughter was so encouraging and inspiring!!!  This stuff works for all of us so please look into the programs for your teams and churches NOW don’t wait.  Please be lifting up in Prayer all of the camps going on right now throughout the rest of the summer.

Several of our team members will be serving GODS kids this weekend starting Friday at an camp agape camp www.campagapecalifornia.com so please be lifting the entire team and all of the kiddos up in prayer.  As the team implements the TBRI tools for the first time.

Today I got a New Bike

0
Today, 80 underprivileged children have a better way to access education, thanks to the gift of brand-new bikes.
The eager faces before receiving the new bicycles
The Giving It Back To Kids‘ team embarked on a meaningful journey to this far-flung area to meet with primary and secondary school students and present them with these meaningful bikes.
The joy is evident on their faces as this is their very first bike
These bicycles will make the long and difficult journey to school much easier, opening up new opportunities for these children to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
Now I can get to school much more easily
For just $125, you can help provide a new bike to a child in need! Together, we are making a difference, one pedal at a time!
Instead of a 40-minute walk to school, it’s now just 15 minutes
